The lecture introduces the TCM understanding of pain from a modern neurophysiological perspective. It discusses the special needle techniques for relieving pain as described in classical Chinese acupuncture literature as well as contemporary, scientifically based neurophysiological research. The lecture focuses in particular on the physiological influence of different needle techniques. |

| Instructor Bio: |
Yemeng Chen, L.Ac., the Academic Dean of the New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He has served as a member of the New York State Board for Acupuncture since 2000. After graduate from Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, China, he has practiced and taught acupuncture for more than 20 years and published 10 books and more than 30 academic papers. |
